  • The Tapestry

    Chance has not brought this ill to me;
It's God's own hand, so let it be,
For He sees what I cannot see.
There is a purpose for each pain,
And He one day will make it plain
That earthly loss is heavenly gain.
    Like a piece of tapestry
Viewed from the back appears to be
    Only threads tangled hopelessly;
But in the front a picture fair
Rewards the worker for his care,
Proving his skill and patience rare.
You are the workman, I the frame.
Lord for the glory of Your Name,
Perfect your image on the same.

  • The Father's presence encircled Christ, and nothing befell  Him but that which infinite love permitted for the blessing of the world. Here was His source of comfort, and it is for us. He who is imbued with the Spirit of Christ abides in Christ. Whatever comes to him comes from the Saviour, who surrounds him with His presence. Nothing can touch him except by the Lord's permission. All our sufferings and sorrows, all our temptations and trials, all our sadness and griefs, all our persecutions and privations, in short, all things work together for our good. All experiences and circumstances are God's workmen whereby good is brought to us. ~Ministry of Healing~

O Lord, words cannot express my deep gratitude for your presence with us, for carrying us through  dark and uncertain days, for encouraging us with your Word and the love of those around us and for keeping your hand over and saving Trevor's life and giving us the opportunity of sharing the future together.   Thank you that You who have brought us this far will be faithful to carry us all of the way.  I love you Lord - great is Your faithfulness!

  • Ancient Words

The first time I heard this modern hymn I was captivated by the words and the music...and then was blessed to have my sister give me the song on a CD called Midnight Cry by Christian Edition this last Christmas.  You can go here to listen to a short piece of the hymn...may you be inspired as I have been by the words of this hymn.

    ANCIENT WORDS

    by Lynn DeShazo

    Holy words long preserved

For our walk in this world

They resound with God's own heart

O let the ancient words impart

Words of life, words of hope

Give us strength, help us cope

In this world, where'er we roam

Ancient words will guide us home

    Chorus:

    Ancient words, ever true

    Changing me and changing you

We have come with open hearts

O let the ancient words impart

    Holy words of our faith

    Handed down to this age

    Came to us through sacrifice

O heed the faithful words of Christ!

    Martyrs' blood stains each page

They have died for this faith

Hear them cry through the years,

"Heed these words and hold them dear!"

  • The Promise

The promise of the Holy Spirit is not limited to any age or to any race. Christ declared that the divine influence of His Spirit was to be with His followers unto the end. From the Day of Pentecost to the present time, the Comforter has been sent to all who have yielded themselves fully to the Lord and to His service. To all who have accepted Christ as a personal Saviour, the Holy Spirit has come as a counselor, sanctifier, guide, and witness. The more closely believers have walked with God, the more clearly and powerfully have they testified of their Redeemer's love and of His saving grace. The men and women who through the long centuries of persecution and trial enjoyed a large measure of the presence of the Spirit in their lives, have stood as signs and wonders in the world. Before angels and men they have revealed the transforming power of redeeming love.

Under the Holy Spirit's working even the weakest, by exercising faith in God, learned to improve their entrusted powers and to become sanctified, refined, and ennobled. As in humility they submitted to the molding influence of the Holy Spirit, they received of the fullness of the Godhead and were fashioned in the likeness of the divine.

The lapse of time has wrought no change in Christ's parting promise to send the Holy Spirit as His representative. It is not because of any restriction on the part of God that the riches of His grace do not flow earthward to men. If the fulfillment of the promise is not seen as it might be, it is because the promise is not appreciated as it should be. If all were willing, all would be filled with the Spirit. Wherever the need of the Holy Spirit is a matter little thought of, there is seen spiritual drought, spiritual darkness, spiritual declension and death. Whenever minor matters occupy the attention, the divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in infinite plenitude.

  • Watch With Me

    Still day,
    yet darkness falls
    blanketing the land.
    He cries out
    My God,
    My God,
    why have You
    forsaken Me?
    Deathly seperation.
    He yields His Spirit.
    By an unseen hand
    the veil is torn
    top to bottom.
    It is finished!
    The earth moves.
    Rocks split open.
    Saints are raised.
    Can you not see?
    Surely this was
    The Son of God!

    (Matt 27:45-54)

  • The Presence

Perseverance is not a passive submission to circumstances -
it is a strong and active response to the difficult events of life.

It is not passive endurance, but the quality
of standing on your feet as you face the storms.

It is not simply the attitude of withstanding trials,
but the ability to turn them into glory, to overcome them.

  • To Live In The Light of The Risen Lamb!

A heartfelt thanks to each of one of you who has stopped by to say hi, to share some encouragement, and who have prayed for us - each one of your words has been a blessing to me.  This last week has been much more peaceful and for that I am grateful.  We are hoping to move out of the little inn we have been staying in, and into our house next week and will "camp" there until our furniture arrives in a couple more weeks.

Here we are again and the Sabbath hours have begun and I am so grateful for this time to focus on renewing my relationship with God in a special way this day!  Can't wait until we can continually live in the light of the Risen Lamb...I hope that you know this beautiful song and that it will ring in your hearts too.  Praying God will pour out His rich blessings on each one of you this weekend. BTW, this was the sunrise on Thursday morning.

    No More Night

    The timeless theme
Earth and heaven will pass away
    It's not a dream
God will make all things new that day
    Gone is the curse
From which I stumbled and fell
Evil is banished to eternal hell.

    No more night
    No more pain
    No more tears
    Never cryin' again
And praises to the great I Am
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

    See all around
Now the nations bow down to sing
The only sound is the praises to Christ, our King
Slowly the names from the book are read
I know the King, there's no need to dread.

    No more night
    And no more pain
    No more tears
    Never cryin' again
And praises to the great I Am
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

    See over there
There's a mansion prepared for me
Where we will live with my Saviour eternally.

    No more night
    And no more pain
    No more tears
    Never cryin' again
And praises to the great I Am
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

We will live in the light of the risen Lamb...

  • He Is So Faithful!

We have been here in the USA for 25 days now -
the move has been more difficult than I imagined it would be,
    but God has been faithful!

    Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
    There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
    Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

    Great is Thy faithfulness!
    Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
    All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

    Great is Thy faithfulness!
    Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
    All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
    Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

    Great is Thy faithfulness!
    Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
    All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

  • He Will Carry You

As our second last week in South Africa draws to an end I am
tired.  The last three weeks since we knew we were moving to the USA have sped
by – there seems to be an endless amount of things to be accomplished in the
approximately five weeks that we have to wrap up our lives here, however things
are slowly being wrapped up and finalised and I am thankful for that.

But more than anything else I am thankful for my Saviour who
is so faithful, even when I am unfaithful, pre-occupied, busy and who keeps
calling to my heart and who has kept my heart at peace so far through this
process of change.   He is always with
me and never gives up on me, never lets go of me.  He certainly has carried me this week.  He has carried my family and me this far and I know that He will
take us the rest of the way.

I haven’t been able to visit any of you much and I do miss
you, but will drop by when I can….whatever your situation today, know this – He
    will carry you!

    He Will Carry You

    By
    Scott Wesley Brown

There is no problem too big God cannot solve it

There is no mountain too tall he cannot move it

There is no storm too dark god cannot calm it

There is no sorrow too deep he cannot sooth it

If he carried the weight of the world up on his shoulders

I know my brother that he will carry you

If he carried the weight of the world up on his shoulders

I know my sister that he will carry you

    He said

Come unto me, all who are weary

And I will give you rest

There is no problem too big God cannot solve it

There is no mountain too tall he cannot move it

There is no storm too dark God cannot calm it

There is no sorrow too deep he cannot soothe it

If he carried the weight of the world up on His shoulders

I know my brother that He will carry you

If he carried the weight of the world up on His shoulders

I know my sister that He will carry you

    He will carry you

How has He carried you this week?

  • It Should Have Been Me

This morning this song from a long time ago came floating across my
    mind,

    and it moves me again…

Long ago in a far away place
Rough rugged timbers were raised to the sky
There hung a man suspended in space
    And though He was blameless
    They left Him to die

Just to think of the cross
    Moves me now
    The nails in His hands
    His bleeding brow
    To think of the cross
    Moves me now
    It should have been me

    It should have been me
    Instead I am free,

    I am free!

He put an end to my guilt and despair
Turned bitter hating to sweet peace and love
Even the men that put Him up there
Were offered forgiveness and life from above

Just to think of the cross
    Moves me now
    The nails in His hands
    His bleeding brow
    To think of the cross
    Moves me now
    It should have been me

    It should have been me
    Instead I am free,

    I am free!

    Be moved....be changed!
