  • This Psalm has been God's Word to me over and over again this week....
He is mighty to save and I praise Him for His goodness to me!

    Psalm 34

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my
    mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and
    be glad.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name
    together.

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my
    fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all
    his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth
    them.

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in
    him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto
    their cry.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of
    all their troubles.

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth
such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth
    him out of them all.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in
    him shall be desolate

Safe am I in the hollow of His hand
Sheltered o'er by His love forever more
    No foe can harm me
    No fear alarm me
For He keeps both day and night
Safe am I in the hollow of His hand.

  • Amen! Thank you for that. I just called my husband to ask for prayer because I was feeling anxious. I jumped on the computer, and this was the first blog I saw. Praise God.. He hears our prayers. Thank you for this wonderful meditation!

  • Dear Colleen, This, too, is one of my favorite Psalms.  May God bless you for sharing it!  I find so much comfort, strength, and encouragement in the Psalms.  May you have a blessed day in Him!  ~ Judy

Happy Mother's Day, my friend!  Hope you have a lovely day...  (Which makes me wonder - is Mother's Day just an American thing - or do you celebrate it in S. Africa, too?)  :)   We often joke that the card companies develop the holidays, so to sell greeting cards - but I wonder about how many holidays this is really true!  Nevertheless, Happy Mother's Day!

  • I love the verses as well as your pictures, they are beautiful. I forgot it is fall in your neck of the woods, I LOVE fall. Happy Mothers Day to you Colleen.

  • RYC- yes I have read Humility a few times. I have read many of Murray's books. :)

    Be blessed!

  • What beautiful photos! I was going to ask you what you were reading in your Word after your comment to me, and here's the answer! I was SO excited when I read, "Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!" That is one of my FAVORITE verses! If I could sum up my testimony into one verse, that would be it. The Christian life is based on first-hand, personal testimonies. We read several times in the Bible the apostles saying, "We have seen", "We have handled"... They personally met Jesus and saw Him at work in their lives and in the lives of others. And my heart's desire is that EVERY person would personally taste for themselves that the Lord is good. =D!!!
