Sanctuary
Alone?
Cold? Stressed?
Tired?
Overwhelmed?
Discouraged?
Afraid? Empty?
Hungry?
Thirsty?
So where do you go?
What do you do?
How do you escape?
Where do you run to?
Who will help you?
Encourage you?
Embrace you?
And allay your fears?
What do you do?
I know what I do…
That’s when I go running, as fast as I can into my Heavenly Father’s presence, into His arms…He is always there waiting for me, ready to embrace me, to take time for me, to listen to me, to feed my hungering soul with His words of love and encouragement, every faithful to help me to look up higher, into His eyes. He is my shelter, my safe haven, my refuge…I am safe in His everlasting arms…He is my sanctuary.
How did I get to thinking about all of this….the words of this hymn just resonated in my heart this morning…
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!Nothing can compare with those moments I spend with Him in His presence, with the love and encouragement He pours into my life, the peace that He gives..He is my Sanctuary.

Such a list of so many different needs, yet there is only one answer for each of those needs!
