    Conversation

When I think of the word “Conversation” it brings to mind the concept of interaction with words, but to be honest it also includes tone of voice, facial expressions and body language.  Only 7% to 10% of communication is verbal.

I thought that the dictionary definition was interesting too…

    Definition of Conversation:

informal interchange of thoughts, information, by spoken words; oral communication between persons; talk; association or social intercourse; intimate acquaintance (Obsolete - behavior or manner of living, close familiarity; intimate acquaintance, as from constant use or study)

I love how practical the Word is:

    You desire unity

To stand fast in one spirit

To strive together for the faith of the Gospel

Then Only let your conversation be

As becometh the Gospel of Christ.

    (Phil 1:27)

Let us first filter our communication through Him today as we communicate with others.

  • YES! God's Word is practical.....applicable to our daily life (and our every thought.)

Oh, by the way......HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Blessings, blessings to you today!!! And I'm trailing behind you five months. :) I'll be there, too.

  • What a wonderful word study & application on conversation.  So much of our tone and body language and facial expression changes the meaning of the words that we say - thank you for this reminder.  Seems I am always being schooled and encouraged to be more careful in my conversation; but it is of utmost important as we strive to be hidden in Christ - and have HIM be seen rather than ourselves. Everything about our conversation should relay love to those we come into contact with - even when we speak of difficult things or things that might be disagreeable to others.  One of my prayers for the last ten or so years has been to be a genuine and sincere individual...and this goes right along with that.  If we aren't sincere in our audible conversation, it will become evident visually to others.  Thanks Colleen... this has been a real admonishment to me this morning~  And if this is indeed your birthday, then Happy Birthday, my friend~

  • Very good post here....I always show my feelings by my body language...I need to work on this...thanks for the reminder...and Happy Birthday to you

  • Amen!

Your birthday? Happiest of all birthdays to you. Have another year blessed by God!

  • Yes, Happy Birthday!

And may you have beautiful communion with Him and those around you!

  • O, is it your birthday?! Happy Birthday sweet one :)    (((Let us first filter our communication through Him today as we communicate with others))) I love this!

  • Great reminder that's it's not just our words but also our body language, tone and expressions that we use in coversation. This is something that I need to pay more attention to.

Happy birthday! Hope you have a great one.
